A little reluctant to leave Berlin I got on the organised busabout bus to Prague with the similar worry of being a solo traveller. However, throughout the journey I met a whole new set of people. Busabouts culture is perfect for solo travellers as you have the freedom to do as you please and travel where you want, but still have access to a network of like minded people along the way. Time was not wasted and as soon as we arrived a bar crawl was organised, walking tour plans made and sightseeing routes secured. The bar crawl was like no other, a mixture of cultures roaming the streets of Prague ecstatic for the evening, the buzz of the night certainly hung in the air as we travelled from absinthe bars to music clubs.
The next day a little worse for wear a group of us busabouters went on the official "free walking tour", this tour is genuinely interesting and informative and a great way to get to grips with the basis of Prague, and the best part is it's free, it just works on a tip basis! Prague throngs in the old town square, here you can find sights such as the astronomical
clock, Tyn church and St nicholas's church. Other attractions in the old town quarter include Charles bridge and Prague Castle. I also found a few little gems whilst getting lost around the streets of Prague the gastronomy museum and the chocolate factory!
Recommend...
Take a trip up to the castle, it's a little walk from the old town square and up a path of winding steps. However, the trek is certainly worth it as once at the top you can overlook the whole of pragues centre. this view is honestly one of the most beautiful sights I've ever seen. The castle gardens offer a little haven away from the busy city and the church by the castle boasts decades of architectural history!

Unlike Berlin, Prague is very much tourist central! It didn't seem to offer a real sense of Czech culture around the central area. The combination of stag and hen do's with packs of tourists slightly tainted my outlook on the city. If you want to experience real Czech culture I recommend staying in a little town called Cesky Krumblov which is scenic and very much reflects the Czech culture.

The aspect I liked about this hostel is the choice to stay in a female only section. Which after a few stays in mixed hostels makes a lovely change. You have the choice to hire straighteners and hair dryers which is handy for female flash packers! The rooms are clean, basic and comfortable with there own bathroom and shower area which is a bonus! The only complaint is the location as you do need to take a 15 minute tram to the central area of Prague, which is easy enough after a day or two!
